Bihar STF Nabs Wanted Arms Suspect in Patna

In a coordinated operation with the West Bengal Police, the Bihar Special Task Force took into custody Pawan Kumar Singh, a resident of Ravaiya village in Jamui district, who had been listed as a prime accused in an arms‑related case registered at the Coke Oven police station, Asansol.

Origins of the Asansol Investigation

According to the Bihar Police headquarters, the matter was entered as case 159/2026 on 25 September 2026. Singh faces multiple charges under the Arms Act, including Sections 25(1)(a), 25(1B)(a), 25(6) and 25(8).

After the FIR was lodged, investigators say Singh fled West Bengal, crossing into Bihar and moving between several locales to avoid detection.

Intelligence Leads to Athmalgola, Patna

Prompted by a rapid information relay from West Bengal officials, the STF employed electronic surveillance and local tip‑offs, pinpointing Singh’s hideout near the Athmalgola police station in Patna district.

Raid Execution on 3 October

Armed with the precise location, an STF team stormed the premises on 3 October. Singh was seized without resistance and subsequently verified as the individual sought by the Asansol investigation.

The apprehension was officially disclosed in an STF press release dated 5 October.

Transfer Procedure to West Bengal Authorities

Legal formalities for a transit remand to West Bengal are now underway. Singh is expected to be presented before the court handling the Asansol case for further interrogation.

The investigation remains active as police continue to map Singh’s involvement in the alleged arms violations recorded at the Coke Oven police station.
