New Delhi. On Monday a cascade of bomb‑threat emails landed in the inboxes of a number of schools in the national capital, compelling head‑masters to activate emergency plans and clear the premises of pupils and staff.

Warnings ripple through multiple campuses

Among the institutions flagged were Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate, Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Vasant Vihar, and several other schools dotted along the Lutyens’ Delhi corridor. Although the messages were dispatched early in the morning, school authorities only became aware of the threat between 11 a.m. and noon.

Swift mobilisation by police and fire services

Once the alerts were verified, each school immediately informed the Delhi Police and Delhi Fire Services, setting their crisis‑management protocols into motion. Learners and teachers were escorted out of the buildings while specialist units arrived on site.

Bomb squads and sniffer‑dog teams deployed

Police contingents equipped with bomb‑detection experts, along with trained sniffer‑dog squads, poured into the affected campuses. Fire‑department crews were also dispatched; the Delhi Fire Services control room recorded a call about the Vasant Vihar school at roughly 12:30 p.m., sending a fire tender and personnel to assist with the evacuation.

A thorough anti‑sabotage sweep was conducted in every building. At the time of writing, investigators confirmed that no suspicious devices or materials had been found.

Parents kept informed

Sardar Patel Vidyalaya quickly notified parents that all students had been safely evacuated and that regular classes would resume only after a clearance from the authorities.

“The safety of our children is our utmost priority. We are cooperating fully with law‑enforcement agencies and will keep families updated,” a school spokesperson said.

The incident echoes a similar wave of bomb‑threat emails received by the same school and a handful of other Delhi institutions about two weeks earlier, during the examination period, which also triggered extensive security checks.

Police and security agencies continue to scrutinise the latest emails, trace their origin and monitor the situation. All schools in the city remain on heightened alert as the investigation proceeds.
