Details of the Complaint
A 22‑year‑old woman from Banka approached the Bhargama police station in Araria district, filing a formal FIR against Mohammad Rabban, who resides in Ward 7 of Dhaneshwari panchayat. She alleges that Rabban hid his real name and continually siphoned money from her throughout a six‑year romantic involvement.
How the Relationship Started
The complainant explains that she lived with her family in Delhi’s bustling Sabzi Mandi market. It was there she met Rabban, who introduced himself as “Sonu.” The pair allegedly maintained a close relationship for almost six years.
Marriage Proposal Triggers Dispute
When the woman requested marriage, Rabban supposedly called her to his native village. Accompanied by her mother and brother, she travelled to Dhaneshwari panchayat, only to discover a quarrel between the two families that halted any wedding plans.
Allegations of Financial Misconduct
According to the victim, Rabban demanded money from her on several occasions during their liaison. After the marriage talks collapsed, she turned to the police to retrieve the funds and lodge a complaint for alleged fraud.
Attempts at Community Mediation
Local villagers tried to intervene and mediate a settlement, but the discussions broke down. Consequently, the woman submitted a written application to the Bhargama police outlining her grievances.
Police Investigation Update
Bhargama SHO Rajesh Kumar confirmed receipt of the complaint and stated that the case is under preliminary review. He noted that, so far, no concrete proof of monetary fraud has been produced. Authorities will verify the claims against the available evidence before deciding on further legal steps.
