Mumbai: Monday’s domestic box‑office receipts fell across the board, yet Ajay Devgn’s suspense‑drama Drishyam 3 remained unbeaten. After a record‑setting opening weekend, the film added roughly ₹21 crore on its first Monday, taking its Indian net total to about ₹197.54 crore.
Drishyam 3 retains the lead
The film premiered on 2 October under the direction of Abhishek Pathak, pulling in ₹62 crore on day one, ₹53.5 crore on Saturday and ₹61 crore on Sunday. The robust weekend haul left it just shy of the coveted ₹200‑crore benchmark. With three straight days crossing the ₹50‑crore barrier, it stands as the clear front‑runner among current releases. Featuring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Jaideep Ahlawat, the movie’s net collection now sits at ₹197.54 crore.
The Vvan slides below ₹1 crore
Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s The Vvan enjoyed a respectable weekend but faltered once the workweek began. After a Sunday haul of ₹3.25 crore, Monday’s earnings dropped to ₹95 lakh on its 11th day, leaving the film’s Indian net at roughly ₹63.05 crore.
Hanuman Ansh sees steep Monday dip
The two‑month‑old Hanuman Ansh continues to add to its impressive total, but daily revenues have slumped sharply. Sunday’s collection stood at ₹3 crore, while Monday fell to about ₹75 lakh. Despite the dip, the film’s Indian net now hovers near ₹325.48 crore.
Prem Keetanu struggles for momentum
Among the newer entrants, Prem Keetanu posted a modest performance. It opened with ₹50 lakh on Friday, followed by ₹35 lakh on Saturday and ₹28 lakh on Sunday. Monday’s take was a mere ₹10 lakh, leaving its four‑day total modest. The cast includes Veer Pahariya, Afiya Syed and Aparshakti Khurana.
Overall box‑office picture
The latest figures highlight a widening gap between the leader and the rest of the slate. While Drishyam 3 edges toward the ₹200‑crore milestone, both The Vvan and Hanuman Ansh suffered pronounced Monday declines. As weekday earnings become the key barometer, the coming days will reveal whether these titles can sustain their theatrical momentum.
