Gold Futures Retreat on MCX

On Monday, October 5, the MCX’s October‑delivery gold contract slipped to about ₹1,49,347 per 10 g, a decline of roughly ₹1,043 during the session. The pull‑back ran counter to a modest rise in global gold prices, highlighting the split between Indian futures and the world market.

Silver Climbs Almost ₹700

Silver moved the opposite way, gaining ₹697 to close near ₹2,26,393 per kilogram on the MCX. The metal’s advance outpaced domestic gold and mirrored a stronger percentage jump overseas.

Current Indian Gold Prices by Purity

24‑carat (24K) gold

The purest grade traded in India is quoted around ₹1,49,540 per 10 g, reflecting its near‑100 % gold content and consequently the highest price among standard grades.

22‑carat (22K) gold

Commonly used for jewelry, 22K gold was listed at roughly ₹1,37,078 per 10 g. Its slightly lower gold proportion makes it a favorite for detailed designs.

18‑carat (18K) gold

The 18K segment traded near ₹1,12,155 per 10 g. With a reduced gold share, it offers a more budget‑friendly option for everyday pieces.

Silver Price Snapshot

In the local market, silver was priced at about ₹2,26,770 per kilogram, continuing its upward momentum and surpassing gold’s movement on Monday.

International Benchmarks Remain Positive

Globally, both metals posted gains. On the COMEX, gold edged up about 0.06 % to $4,164.80 per ounce, while silver jumped roughly 1.46 %, reaching $61.30 per ounce.

Why Your Final Invoice May Vary

Precious‑metal rates can shift multiple times throughout a trading day. Moreover, the price you pay for jewelry often exceeds the quoted bullion rate because of making charges, taxes and design intricacies. Always confirm the latest local rates and applicable fees before finalising a purchase.
