Hyderabad. Police have opened a murder investigation after the lifeless body of a 34‑year‑old bank employee was found inside a room at the Gokul Pride Hotel in SR Nagar.
The victim has been identified as B. Sirisha, a resident of Nagasamudram, Vikarabad district, who worked as a customer‑care executive at a local bank.
How the pair checked in
According to authorities, Sirisha arrived at the hotel on 24 September accompanied by a man identified as A. Srinivas. Both individuals allegedly used false names and forged identity documents when registering.
In the hotel’s register, Srinivas entered the alias “Ganesh,” while Sirisha’s entry was listed as “Durga.” They were assigned room 10.
Suspicious departure and discovery
Srinivas reportedly left the premises around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, telling staff that Sirisha would remain for breakfast before checking out. When the expected check‑out never occurred and Sirisha failed to answer her phone, hotel employees grew uneasy and alerted the police.
Police entered the room with a master key and found Sirisha lying motionless on the bed. Early observations noted visible injuries, suggesting she may have been struck with a heavy or sharp object. A curtain rod found in the room is also being examined as a possible weapon. The definitive cause of death will be confirmed once the post‑mortem report is received.
Investigation steps
Jubilee Hills DCP A. Ramana Reddy confirmed that a murder case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the BNS. Fingerprints and other forensic material have been collected, and investigators are scrutinising the hotel’s CCTV footage to trace Srinivas’s movements.
Special task forces have been mobilised to locate Srinivas. Officers are also probing the discrepancy between the name “Durga” recorded in the hotel log and Sirisha’s actual name as per official records.
Possible links to prior incidents
Investigators are gathering details about a previous alleged assault involving Sirisha’s husband to determine whether there is any connection to the current case. The police continue to pursue all leads while the search for Srinivas remains ongoing.
