Muzaffarpur. In a rapid raid close to Kalyambagh Chowk, constables from the Kazimohammadpur police station intercepted two men carrying roughly 80 grams of ganja. The duo was escorted to the station, where Station House Officer Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh recorded an FIR and set the legal process in motion.

Wider Operation and Continuing Investigation

Following the arrests, officers launched nocturnal sweeps at several sites identified during interrogation. Investigators are now mining the detainees' statements to trace a broader drug‑trafficking web.

Recent weeks have witnessed more than two dozen arrests across the region, accompanied by seizures that include:

  • Ganja (cannabis)
  • Smack
  • Heroin
  • Brown sugar

Extension of the Crackdown into Vaishali

The anti‑narcotics drive has spilled over into neighboring Vaishali district. Three days earlier, police in Ahiyapur raided an area near the Bairiya Bus Stand, confiscating 28.06 kg of ganja and booking Mithun Kumar of Bhagwanpur.

Interrogations revealed additional operatives based in Vaishali. Earlier in the week, a joint task force seized 185 grams of heroin and smack from three alleged couriers near Chandni Chowk. The suspects—Vikram Kumar, Sakaldeep Rai (both from Jadua, under Nagar police jurisdiction) and Sonu Kumar Rai of Bidupur—have been taken into custody, and the probe continues to uncover further links in the network.
