North Western Railway (NWR) has initiated a fresh apprenticeship campaign for the financial year 2026‑27, providing 2,008 training seats across its network. The official notification was issued on 1 October 2026. Applications can be lodged online from 7 October 2026 until 11:59 pm on 6 November 2026. All submissions must be electronic; hard‑copy forms are not accepted.

Division‑wise Distribution of Seats

The vacancies are allocated among the following NWR divisions:

  • Jaipur division: 580 posts
  • Bikaner division: 524 posts
  • Ajmer division: 500 posts
  • Jodhpur division: 134 posts

Additional openings are available at specific workshops:

  • 101 positions – BTC Carriage, Ajmer
  • 69 positions – BTC Loco, Ajmer
  • 33 positions – Carriage Workshop, Bikaner
  • 67 positions – Carriage Workshop, Jodhpur

Trade Options

Successful candidates will undergo practical training in one of the following trades:

  • Fitter
  • Electrician
  • Diesel Mechanic
  • Welder
  • Carpenter
  • Electronics Mechanic
  • Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA)

Applicants must select a single railway unit while filling the form; multiple selections are not permitted.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the apprenticeship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Pass Class 10 from a recognized board with a minimum of 50 % marks.
  • Possess a valid National Trade Certificate (NCVT or SCVT) in the chosen trade.
  • Age between 15 and 24 years as on 6 Nov 2026.

Age relaxations are applicable as per government norms:

  • SC/ST – up to 5 years extra.
  • OBC – up to 3 years extra.
  • Persons with benchmark disabilities – up to 10 years extra.

Selection Procedure – No Written Exam

The recruitment does not involve any written test. A merit list will be generated by taking the simple average of the percentages obtained in Class 10 and the ITI qualification. In case of identical averages, the older candidate will be given preference.

Candidates short‑listed in the merit list will undergo document verification followed by a medical examination before the final appointment.

Application Fee Details

General‑category aspirants are required to pay an online fee of ₹ 100. The fee is waived for SC, ST, PwBD candidates and for all female applicants. Once the payment is made, the application cannot be edited.

How to Submit Your Application

Interested candidates should visit the official NWR recruitment portal at rrcjaipur.in and complete the online form. Required information includes personal details, Aadhaar number, Class 10 marks, and trade‑specific qualifications. All supporting documents must be uploaded before final submission.

Only one application per candidate per railway unit is allowed; duplicate entries may lead to cancellation of the candidature.

The deadline is strict: 11:59 pm on 6 Nov 2026. Candidates are strongly advised to complete the process well before the cut‑off to avoid technical glitches.
