Jaipur — The Rajasthan State Election Commission has re‑ordered the itinerary for the forthcoming Panchayat elections, shifting only the dates on which election teams travel to their respective constituencies. This modification, designed to respect the Dhanteras festival and ease voter logistics, leaves the actual voting days untouched.

First Phase

Election officials slated for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti contests will now set out on October 21, with the polls opening on October 22.

Nomination drives for Panch and Sarpanch posts are scheduled for October 23, followed by voting on October 24. The Up‑Sarpanch election will be held on October 25.

Second Phase

For the second round, the teams’ departure is moved to October 27, and the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections will be conducted on October 28.

Nomination for Panch and Sarpanch seats is set for October 29, with the ballot on October 30. The Up‑Sarpanch contest follows on October 31.

Third Phase

The third‑phase departure has been advanced to November 2, and voting for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will occur on November 3.

Nomination for Panch and Sarpanch positions is planned for November 4, polling on November 5, and the Up‑Sarpanch election on November 6.

Polling Dates Remain Unchanged

The commission stressed that the dates on which citizens cast their votes remain intact; only the movement schedule of the election machinery has been altered.

This tweak ensures that no electoral activity falls on Dhanteras, a major Hindu celebration, thereby avoiding inconvenience for voters and officials alike.

With the revised itinerary, the election process will continue on the previously announced polling dates while aligning with the festive calendar.
