Armed Student Triggers Panic at Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College
On Thursday, a senior student stormed the premises of Shri Kund‑Kund Jain Inter College in Muzaffarnagar, clutching a makeshift pistol that had been fabricated locally. He slipped past the locked main gate by claiming he was there to pay his fees and headed straight for a classroom where a Class 10 pupil was seated.
Gunfire and Immediate Turmoil
Inside the room the teenager allegedly fired the weapon. Although the bullet missed its intended target, the loud discharge sent shockwaves through the school, plunging everyone into chaos. Principal Anurag Jain and several teachers rushed in, only to find the assailant pointing the gun at the principal as well.
What Sparked the Attack?
The senior claimed that the younger boy and his friends had verbally abused and physically assaulted him earlier in the week. Police suspect the shooting was a retaliatory act after the Class 10 group allegedly struck the senior with sticks two days before.
Staff Subdue the Gunman, Police Arrive
Through calm negotiation the teachers managed to wrestle the firearm from the student and secure it. Law‑enforcement officers were summoned, recovered the pistol along with two cartridges, and took the accused into custody for further questioning.
Principal’s View on Campus Safety
Principal Jain noted that the student’s claim of coming to pay fees initially lowered suspicion, as the gate is normally locked after entry, limiting escape routes. He commended the staff’s swift action for averting a potentially tragic outcome.
Investigation Ongoing
Investigators are now reconstructing the sequence of the earlier altercation and the subsequent shooting. The Class 10 student emerged unharmed, and the case remains under active police scrutiny.
