Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Uttarakhand’s citizens are demanding both progress and stability, and that his administration is steering the state’s development to match that aspiration. He added that by centering policies on public welfare, the government aims to extend the fruits of growth to every individual.

Speaking at the ‘Uttarakhand: Development, Challenges, and the Road to 2027’ gathering organised by the Adda Insider newspaper on Rajpur Road, Dhami outlined the government’s current priorities and ongoing projects.

‘Nation First, Organisation Second, Individual Third’ – The Guiding Mantra

The chief minister reiterated that his party’s guiding credo in public life remains ‘Nation First, Organisation Second, Individual Third.’ He emphasized that this philosophy underpins every development effort being undertaken across Uttarakhand.

Referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s relationship with the state, Dhami noted that the prime minister has visited Uttarakhand 28 times since taking office. He pointed out that the central government has also placed a special focus on border‑area development, a shift that began after the prime minister described Mana as the nation’s ‘First Village.’

Tourism and Sustainable Growth on the Rise

Dhami highlighted that, under the prime minister’s guidance, Uttarakhand has climbed to the top slot in the NITI Aayog Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index. He also praised the state’s recent national accolades in the tourism sector, noting its growing reputation as a hub for film shoots, adventure activities and destination weddings.

Boosting Employment and Entrepreneurship for Young People

The chief minister echoed Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, stressing that the youth will be the engine of that transformation. He said Uttarakhand’s government is expanding avenues for education, skill‑building, formal employment and self‑employment to empower its younger generation.

“I prefer to talk to the youth not as a chief minister but as a friend; their ideas recharge my energy,” Dhami said during a candid interaction with students.

Ensuring Fairness in Government Recruitment

Highlighting a new anti‑cheating legislation, Dhami said the rule has bolstered confidence among deserving candidates, making the recruitment process more transparent and merit‑based. He disclosed that roughly 35,000 youngsters have been inducted into various government services over the past five years.

Reclaiming Over 13,000 Acres of Public Land

The minister announced that the administration continues to protect Uttarakhand’s natural character by clearing illegal encroachments. To date, more than 13,000 acres of government land have been liberated from unlawful occupation across the state.

He concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to push development to even the most remote corners, while simultaneously furnishing young people with opportunities that match their talents and ambitions.
