Dehradun: The next milestone of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ initiative, aimed at deepening youth involvement in the state’s progress, is set for 18 September. On that day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will sit down with 140 hand‑picked students from across Uttarakhand to hear their visions for the theme, ‘What Should the Uttarakhand of My Dreams Look Like?’
The interaction goes beyond a single meeting with the CM. Following his directions, senior IAS officers and heads of key departments will also engage the students, holding preliminary discussions to capture their ideas before they reach the Chief Minister’s desk.
Over 2.67 Lakh Young Voices Shared Their Views
Roughly three lakh class‑11 and class‑12 learners took part in the online campaign. A total of 267,744 submissions poured in, touching on education, jobs, tourism, environment, migration, technology, health, and self‑employment.
From this massive pool, a panel of experts shortlisted 140 candidates whose proposals stood out for originality and relevance. These students now have a unique platform to present their concepts directly to the state’s top leader.
Departmental Leaders to Join the Dialogue
To bridge youthful ideas with actionable policies, officials from Education, Health, Forest & Environment, Public Works, Tourism, Information Technology, Self‑Employment, and Women & Child Development will meet the students. The sessions will explore the youngsters’ perspectives on development pathways, employment prospects, and the broader future of Uttarakhand.
Scholarships Up to ₹2 Lakh for the Selected 140
As part of the ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Vidyarthi Manthan’ programme, each of the 140 chosen scholars will be awarded a scholarship of up to ₹2 lakh. The funds are earmarked for career‑preparation coaching and mentorship after the completion of class 12, a promise announced by CM Dhami during the campaign launch.
Embedding Youth Insights into State Schemes
Chief Minister Dhami affirmed that the administration will strive to weave the most constructive student suggestions into existing government schemes and future policy frameworks. He highlighted that tapping into the creativity and energy of the younger generation is essential for shaping Uttarakhand’s long‑term development.
The 18 September gathering will therefore serve as a pivotal moment, granting the 140 students a direct line to the Chief Minister and senior bureaucrats, and ensuring that their ideas are heard where decisions are made.
