Corpses found inside a stationary vehicle

Local authorities received an anonymous tip about a lifeless individual occupying a car parked in Friends Colony, close to the Jamuna Palace complex. When officers from the Rajiv Nagar police station arrived, they encountered a man with a gun‑shot wound and recovered a handgun from the vicinity.

Who the victim was

The deceased was identified as Alok Kumar, a former engineer who rose to the position of General Manager at Coal India. Born in Motihari, Kumar retired to Ranchi and was listed as a resident of the Indira Nagar police‑station jurisdiction in Gonda, near Kanke Road.

Family says he was in Patna to visit his sister

Kumar’s brother‑in‑law, Vinod Kumar, lives in Flat 302, F‑Block of Vidya Vihar Apartments – the same neighbourhood where the car was located. According to Vinod, Alok arrived in Patna roughly two nights earlier, having made a brief trip to the city about fifteen days before that. He was in town to see his sister, who lives nearby. Kumar’s wife had predeceased him, and his son resides outside Patna.

On the morning the body was discovered, Kumar is believed to have gone for his routine walk and never returned, his remains later found inside the parked car beneath Jamuna Palace.

Police seal the area and summon forensic specialists

Following the grim discovery, officers cordoned off the location and began collecting physical clues. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was dispatched to photograph the scene, secure the recovered firearm, and gather any biological traces.

Investigators examine CCTV footage and question acquaintances

Authorities are reviewing surveillance recordings from cameras installed around Friends Colony to piece together Kumar’s movements from his arrival to the moment the vehicle was abandoned. They are also interviewing relatives, neighbours, and anyone who may have interacted with him in the days leading up to his death.

Cause of death still being determined

At present, police are treating the case as an open inquiry, considering both suicide and foul‑play possibilities. The ultimate conclusion will depend on the autopsy report, forensic analysis of the pistol and ballistics, and any further evidence uncovered during the ongoing investigation.
